Great mic for an Upright

I run the sound for a Bluegrass/Country band and also play the upright bass. If you play with your finger tips this mic reproduces the sound like a profesional studio would. if you play with the side of you finger the bass frequencies really come out and it you will have to adjust you EQ to knock it down or youlll just get a very very boomy and muddy sound. Overall once you mess with it some and figure out how to use it best this mic is a great addition to any sound system trying to pick up bass frequencies.

Nice Drum Tone

This mic is a great mic for kick drums and bass cabs. I use it alone or in addition to a Shure beta 91. But most time I don't need the shure as the mic covers all the frequencies I need, good low end and good attack for that snap. The only problem is the mic holder that has to be screwed on a mic stand. Mine is already stripped out, so I am going to get a metal clip specially built for it. Sennheiser should move to a metal mic clip by now. It is its only weak point. Sonic and ruggedness is there. I have taken this mic on several tours and it never lets me down. Get it!!

Die hard e602 user using e602 II

I am a big fan of the original e602. It needed to be repaired after 5 years. I sent it to get repaired and found out that the e602 was discontinued and was sent the e602II. Was a little reluctant to try it. First thing I noticed in hearing and in reading the specs (one of the few people who actually read that stuff), the e602II is similar in response and sound but less output than the original which helps. I is not a forgiving mic. Had an overstuffed kick first time out and it sound like it, A LOT. If you have a good sounding kick it reinforces it, if you don't, well? What you have is what you get.

P.S. I now own two of them.

Cheers.

I am the head sound tech at a large church in my home town and we recently upgraded all of our drum mics. We were originally going to go with a Shure Kick mic but decided to go with this on instead. I couldn't have made a better choice. This mic is great. This mic has the lowest tones I've heard out of any mic. I've recorded with the AKG D112 and the e602 blows it out of the water. This is a great deal on an awesome mic. I recommend it highly.
