We use these at our contemporary service at my church. We have them in isolation cabs too which is nice but anyways back to the mic. The e906 is just flat out perfect for us electric players. It picks the sound out well and really keeps the sound clear unlike alot of mics that can sound muffled at times. The sound quality truely is remarkable. It picks up the tone that comes out of your speaker, with out coloring it, and allows it to come through clearly in the PA. Suprisingly enough, the tone was even more killer when i finally used it strait up to my moded hot rod deluxe rather than from an isolation cab. I could go on about how much i love this mic.

overall: Well priced, Great build and sound quality, and Highly Recommended!

Wow. That is really all I have to say. First off, I have been recording for about 5 years now, and while that may not seem like a lot, the number of microphones I have gone through is. This microphone gives me the most accurate representation of my original tone without sacrificing anything. I used barely ANY equalizing in post-production. I gave this a 5 for features because the presence switch is great. It gave my tone great presence without tapping out the highs and giving that razor sound that can be harsh on a mix. It made the overall sound so much warmer and pleasing to edit with. Basically, if you can come across one of these mics, don't pass it up.

I got this mic based on the previous consumer reviews and I am not at all disappointed. This mic picks up the great fundamental sounds of my all tube 5W practice amp and makes recording guitar a cinch! I feel is doesn't color the sound like some other familiar mics can which is great because I love the sound coming out of my amp speaker and need that sound to process to the recorder. Anyways, check out this mic because I think you'll absolutely love it.

Ever sense I first started using a 57 for guitar cabs I've hated it. Finally I started searching for something better that didn't over emphasize the highs and color the sound. I also looked at the 609 which to me was just a more convenient 57. This mic is perfect, I use two of them three times a week and it was the best investment I've made to my mic locker. Since the shows I work at have as many as 6 bands, I don't really worry too much about mic placement and I still only have to use minimal eq. The sound is almost always perfect, unless of course the guitarist is a bafoon.

You can't beat this mic for the money. In a nutshell, it's just easy to use. Stick it in front of a speaker, take a moment to find the sweet spot and you're set. The presence switch is a great feature, very useful. I like this mic better than an SM57, by a wide margin. It doesn't color your sound as much, it's more natural in my opinion. My only nitpick is the construction. It's very light, doesn't feel very durable. The ring that supports/surrounds the mesh is plastic. You definitely don't want to drop it.
