I just got this in yesterday and I've been playing around with it a lot. To get a good sound out of this on my amp I've had to turn the amp up a lot. I also crank the treble to MAX, the mids in the middle, and drop out the bass to get a really tinny tone. I ran the mic through my Boss Blues Driver pedal with knobs set in the middle that I use for my guitar and got a really awesome tone out of it that's good for lo-fi vocals. I really like this mic a lot...really gets the job done. Keep in mind that it's fairly low output and you may have to push your amp up. The only think I dislike is the cable...it's thick and vintage-style so it gets kinked up really easily, and it doesn't come off of the mic. There's also no case for the mic so you have to buy another one which is kind of annoying but I'll deal with that.

I have had this mic for a couple of months now and I really like it. It has a nice sound and really good feedback control. The casing is build like a tank which is good for me. Overall it is a good mic the only thing that I would want to change about it is the fact that you can't disconnect the cable when you store it.

hey this is a classic want to overdrive a amp get a bullet. love it that tone it produces is classic and i also use it for recording. It has a unique sound for that also. The only drawback is the cord is permantly attached i wish it used a standard guitar cord but hey ill worry about that if it gets a short in it untill then i always wrap it up nice and store it in a case when not in use.and the volume knob is the only way to go to reduce feedback quick. I have a cheaper harp mike with no knob and when it feedbacks watch out. but the green bullet no problem for shutting feedback problems off quick and easy. Band taking a break during a live session no need to worry just turn the knob and go take a break.

I own the original 1960's version of this mic with a CM element assembled in Mexico. I don't even play the harp; I bought it to use for heavily effected vocals, but now i use it in the studio for drums (mostly overhead for toms), acoustic guitars, and pretty much whatever else needs to get loud. My favorite thing about it is that you can record vocal tracks in a room with open monitors on and it doesn't feed back or pick up the speakers at all, which is wonderful if you hate recording vocals in headphones all the time. The trick is to run it into some kind of solid state preamp or effect pedal (I use a Digitech WH2 whammy in bypass) that has input and output gain controls; turn the input way up and the output way down and the mic will sound like a condenser at close range, but from more than a few inches away, it doesn't pick up anything. With a good compressor/ noise gate and graphic eq, you can dial in the dynamic response so that you get clean tones for just about any instrument or voice. I used to use SM57's and MXL condensers in the studio, but now I'm almost strictly using the Green Bullet for every take.

Our band's lead vocalist plays blues harp. He uses a 520DX Green Bullet mic through a Fender Blues Jr. all-tube amp. The sound is raunchy, vintage, Chicago style blues, voodoo magic that makes your spine tingle and your hair stand on in! Buy this harp and a Fender Blues Jr, amp and you will be amazed!
