I have had the foam covered sit in your ear type and hated them as the sound quality always changed as the moved around. I have had these ear buds for a couple of months now and am still in awe at the quality. They fit in my ear like safty ear plugs and will never move once out in right. You can do any sport and they will stay in place. I have let others use them and they were amazed at the sound quality. A must buy. Can't imagine getting better sound quality from more expensive ones. they do cancel noise as i commute via subway in NY and they do a fine job.

I have had my E3's about 6 months now and do like them a lot; they are well worth the money. At first I used them as they came, trying to get the right tip for my ear. Once I did, it was all good and sounded great. The isolation was very good as well. I will admit that I wanted more isolation though and I move around a lot on stage and they would fall out if I went too crazy. I went an audiologist and had impressions of my ears taken.($50) Then I went ahead and had some custom "sleeves" made for my E3's. Now I have custom ear molds and The E3's sound even better because of the increased isolation. They are also much more comfortable and there is no way they will come out of ears unless you pull them out. I could not be happier and have stopped bringing my old powered floor monitor as a backup and have just purchased a 2nd pair of E3’s for that purpose. What is nice is that the custom sleeves are made to have the E3 slide into it, so if I need my backup pair for some reason, I just slide the new ones into the sleeves and I’m ready to go.. Rock On 

I've heard of all these "tons of money" earphones...I was thinking about getting some for my worship band's in-ear system, however, I was walking through walmart one day, and saw some earbuds. Oh my gosh, they're awesome. . . the bass you can feel pounding through your head and it's still balanced...for 35 dollar earbuds they're amazing (sony's) and I can't hear when I clap my hands...for the price of things like Sures, I think I'll go with my 35 dollar walmart pair...lol hope this helps

I bought my E3's a while ago and really feel that they are a great entry-level product for those interested in IEM's. They are affordable (okay, so you might have to save up for a little while) and they are built to last. I accidentally stepped on mine last week and thought I broke them - they still work just fine, though. Treat your gear right and it'll work for ya!

Anyways, I used these to help monitor a gig this past week at our university and they were great! It was my first time using IEM's to mix monitors for anything. It was pretty cool... Just a word of warning: the impedance on these things is pretty high, so make sure you don't overload the output. The IEM system that our client was using had 2 listening outputs and we used both. All of a sudden they started cutting in and out. After unplugging my E3's the problem went away and all was well.

If you want to get into in-ears, go for these and then upgrade...Futuresonics, Sensaphonics, Westone - they can wait for later.
