I recently bought this mic (KSM9) after trying it at a music shop, and it is an exceptional vocal mic, the best I've ever utilised. Everyone on my team thinks we should get more. It is so clear and it absolutely boosts more from the BETA87A range than the Neumann KMS 105 does. The KMS 105 although being a great mic sounds to dry compared to this one.

I have used this mic in my live shows for a year now. I tried many others prior to springing for the price of an ultra-high end solution. My vocals are the most important aspect of what I do so I wanted to invest wisely. This mic is the right answer for me. Great high-end clarity and range control ... with little or no feedback when set as per the specifications. I recommend it if you can justify the cost.

This is a fine mic. If you are going from the Beta 87 like us the difference is more subtle than say from a Beta 58. We first bought the Neuman KMS 105 but found we were unplugging them after the first set and taking out the Beta 87's on almost every gig. Not good for the price of owning them. I suppose for recording situations the Neumans are tops, but for live?, well I can only relate my own experiences. The Neumans sounded too dry / dull to us. Anyway, since we went with the KSM9 a few months ago they have not been unplugged once on a gig and the Beta 87s appear to be permanently retired to a backup role now. If you like the Beta 87 you will like this one even more but you will pay more than double for it. We are full timers and to us if it makes us just that much better it's worth it. We have some strong singers, and they all have said the KSM9 makes it easier to sing and hit notes without pushing as hard. I've owned just about every mic there is in my career and to me this one is the best yet. I also own Audix OM5 and VX5, Beyer, AKG. They are good mics too but the KSM9 is my preference now.

I have seen a few bands use this. I have heard about it. I know it is an amazing Microphone, thats why so many artist are switching to it. The Features like Cardiod/Supercardiod Switchable is amazing. It is the 1st of its kind in handheld. It is also Condensor which brings Studio Quality On-Stage. I am probably going to switch from the Beta 58A to the KSM9 in the next 6 Months because I want a condensor and there is no better handheld mic out there. I highly Recommend it It sounds amazing in what I have heard of it.

this is an awesome mic. i've been saving up for it for so long. craig owens from chiodos uses this live and it sounds so freaking good. from the his unique stlye of singing to his deathly screams, this mic could handle it all.
