This is my favorite needle ever. tank like durability, and LOUD. sometimes the bass is a bit much, but just nudge it down on your mixer, no problem. if you adjust it slightly less than recommended, it is harder to make it skip than to keep it in the groove, even with less than recommended weight. in my opinion these are the only thing to put on your table.

I rock the Rane TTM57SL mixer at gigs where I will play both standard vinyl and digi serato tracks and there is no better needle to use than this right here for overall sound clarity and skip resistance. I can easily put in 100+ hours on one needle alone without noticing any comprimise in sound.

Facts are that these needles are better for your records than Ortofon. They have clearer and more dynamic overall sound quality, and are durable if transported in a Shure case. The Ortofon provides a more crisp scratching sound if you're fast enough at the hand. But for sound quality, you can't beat this Shure. Best thing I like about this is that because the bass is deeper and the mids and highs are better clarified, DJs going from CD to Vinyl in a mix have less of a sound variation. BUY THE CASE! KEEP THE CARTRIDGE AT AN ANGLE AS SPECIFIED IN THE DIRECTIONS, OR ELSE HIP HOP SCRATCHING WON'T WORK.

I dont know how you can engineer a better cartridge. I use these every Friday night at my DJ gigs, and I put them through hell with all the scratching. Yet they still look and sound brand new. The skip resistance is unbelieveable. One night I actually tried to make it skip. I tried it seven times, and it only skipped once. The sound quality is as good as Ortophon at a cheaper price. This is the best cartridge a DJ can have. Especially Hip-Hop DJs.
