These were my first foray into in-ear monitoring and I am very impressed. I bought the wired body pack b/c I am a drummer and I have no need for a wireless unit, since I am not leaving the drum kit. My band has a mixing board on stage so I bought a 50ft TRS cable and I am good to go. This comes with a 20-25 ft cable that I am using as a back-up. The ear buds are not bad. These are nowhere near as nice as a set of custom molded ears but for an entry level set, I can't complain. If you really jam them deep in your ear, they won't move, and they really isolate well. I prefer to hear some ambient noise so I keep the left ear a little bit looser and sometimes it will pop out when the sweat really starts going. The low end response is not the greatest but that is what you get with a single driver. So whenever I can, I still take some kick drum in the drum box/wedge and that gives me what I need. I am going to upgrade to custom molded ears later this year but I have been using these for about six months and they are holding up great. The extra ear pieces are a nice touch, although I am still using the tips that came standard. The body pack is nice and light weight and sits comfortably on my pocket. Comes with a nice leather case for the ear buds and receiver. The ear buds also come with a nice round case to keep them protected. A great purchase for anyone who wants to try in ears but doesn't want to drop a ton of money the first time around.

We bought the psm 200 plus 3 additional bodypacks. We have a four member group with 2 guitars, drums and keyboard plus vocals. The sound was in and out, and you never could tell when a particular vocal part would overpower everything else. We eliminated the vocals from the ear monitors with just instrumental music playing but the sound quality was so subpar that nobody would use the ear monitors. I've called Shure but they were no help.

No comparison for the buck! As simple as that! You guys wanna hear yourselves well and crystal clear when performing? Then believe what I say. No more feedback from your floor monitors, etc. No more silly complaints about "but I can't hear you well enough" or "but I can't hear myself good enough" The trouble is over with these in-ear monitors. Shure has done it again!

As the vocalist in a loud modern rock band (100db+), I've always struggled with cymbal wash, blaring guitar solos and acoustically challenging venues affecting the ability to hear myself. A dedicated powered monitor from the main mix just seemed to add to the "wall of haze". Enter In-Ear-Monitoring (IEM). Now by taking the main mix out of the PA (all instruments mixed/mic'd), I can reach and sustain notes on a consistent basis like never before with MUCH MUCH less strain and, upon recording performances, learn about where I REALLY need to improve. It has seriously changed my life... oh and because they double as hearing protection devices you ears will never ring again!!! PSM200-wired is a great entry kit for the money. Compare to a powered monitor and it wins hands-down. Earbuds are fairly inconspicuous and the body pack is very simple - just plug it in and turn it up. Only downside is that it is a mono feed. The only fear I have is that the E2 earbuds may short per others comments. Forget what others say about "tinny-ness", inserted properly the bass response was excellent for me on the first use with the foam inserts. Sounds too good to be true, but really folks, nobody's paying me to say this. Save your hearing and take your vocals to the next level.
