These headphones are nice, But I like the M-audio Ie-10s way!!!! better than these. These are kinda plain, Great clean very nice, not to much bass, mids are kinda hard to feel, to many highs. Every time i would play through these or listen to music...i just felt something was missing. If you want true happiness...go with the IE-30s. Same price. Please look at them.

I purchased these in white and had them for about a year before one of the earphones stopped working. Customer service offered to replace them for free but I was outside the year warranty so that did not happen.
I'm a drummer but I primarily used these for listening to music on my MP3 player but also used them while practicing because they block out almost all outside noise when sealed correctly. Overall the earphones had excellent sound quality. Treble and mid-range sounds were perfect and bass was definitely adequate although it did not "hit" like some over the ear headphones. The headphones came with a large assortment of attachments to get a good fit and seal in the ear. With a perfect seal these are the best in-ear earphones I've ever owned but unfortunately I work in hot environments and when it was hot they would frequently lose a seal and even slide out.
I will not purchase these again because although they are great earphones, and I love my other Shure products, they were only slightly better that some of my other (cheaper) earbuds from Sony or Bose. I will consider it a fluke that one stopped working and as I stated earlier customer service was easy for me to get a hold of.

Once you have good fitting to your ear, these SCL4's sound terrific. However the durability is completely another matter. I have gone through 2 Shure earphones over the last 4 years, each lasting about 2 years of casual use before the wire breaks internally somewhere rendering it useless. Trying to contact their service is a terrible experience as they are absolutely unhelpful. All in all, if you think about 2 years of usage is worth the money they charge, then go for it. Otherwise look elsewhere.

Just got the white ones. They were on sale for a lot less than this but... Although the sound is good, it's a bit hot in the midrange which makes them sound hollow. Pulling down 2k a few db helps. Only had them a day or 2 so I might learn something about then that changes my opinion. We'll see

These Shure SCL4 earbuds are very balanced across the entire frequency range. I am amazed at how uncolored and clear each instrument and voice is reproduced. Even though the description says ‘extended bass,’ the bass is not overpowering, but evenly balanced and very full across the lower frequency spectrum. Compared with to several other earbuds I’ve used, the SCL4’s require a smidge more power to reach comparable volumes, but the scl4’s produces frequencies evenly across a wide volume range, with no frequency bands becoming more prominent at higher volumes. Properly fitting these sound-isolating earbuds was a long-ish process for me, only because so many options of ‘sleeves’ are provided, and I had to try just about every one to make sure I was getting the best fit possible. The fit I chose provides me with sound isolation that is pretty much the equivalent of using 30 db noise-reducing (30 NRR) ear plugs like I use at work (my comparison/opinion, absolutely non-scientific). The rounded, zippered storage case provided is actually a hard case, but is not plastic, so I don’t expect it to shatter the first time I drop it, throw it in my gig bag with heavier stuff, or sit on it. Shure warrants these for 2 years, which makes me feel even better about the purchase. I now use these for all my discerning listening needs, but purchased them primarily as on-stage in-ear monitors for use with our personal monitoring system. These Shure SCL4’s have met my expectations of the quality and fit I expected from higher cost listening devices.
