Finally Shure has done Vintage right!

Think Howlin' Wolf grabbing the mic in stand and shifting it into gear for his characteristic baritone growl. This microphone delivers! I've been waiting for Shure to begin production on a high-gain version of the historical 55. Earlier version (noticeable by the on/off switch) was low in gain, so there were many 3rd parties upgrading these microphones. Now Shure has produced a Super 55 thereby providing the gain lacking in the first re-issue,

I've used this mic for an International church event where it covered singers of every genre and ethnic background. African shouters, Hmong melodies, North American Blues - it delivers and does so with style.

Seems stylish microphones that perform are back in vogue. Between the Super 55 and the newest Blue mics ... you can now have your cake and eat it to. Stage presence and performance. Highly recommended!

This mic is great on vocals. The response is really great and has a hi gain before feedback. I love this mic. I used it for a musical "joseph and the Amazing Tecnicolor Dream Coat" fot the Pharo and I got so many comments on the quality and the looks. Its buildt tough. Was dropped once on the stage and one into the pit durring rehersal and it still sounds just as it did when I took it out of the box. If you want a great mic with a great classic look get this mic you wont be disapointed.
