Ok, but not a great design

I've had a pair of these for a while and the word "studio" in the name is very misleading! Not at all made for studio use. They sit on the ear, not around them, making them tiring if used for a long period, and also making them not very good at isolating noises. They are cheap in cost and build, but the sound for general purposes is not bad. A pair of Sennheiser HD 202 are a much better inexpensive option.

These are a budget set of headphones. The title "studio monitor" is just that, a title. I've tried them a few times to do my mixing but once I run my tracks out of other sources their "studio monitor" ability (or lack there of) showed. The lows come through heavy, knowing that it makes evening out volume and gain levels as well as EQ levels a pain.

With that said they're great for just listening and enjoying sound. They do get pretty loud and produce good overall sound. No distortion I've noticed. Once I took these out of the studio I used them on everything. The adapter was a nice add-on in the package.

Construction wise they could be better. Ive broke one set by accident. They got crushed by a computer monitor. I got another set and the wire on them is shorting. There's a pull in the line so the cable could be stronger. Had both for over 2 years though.

If your looking for budget headphones to mix and master with, look around some more. If you need a good set for general use, these are a good choice.

I bought these for my sony mp4 [I just love the sound of sony, it's the best brand] and the sound is the best. so much low end! and they are not muddy or anything. crystal clear sound with lots of basses. and I love the whay they looks. and I like that they are quite small not like those other huge headphones. unfortunately I droppped my sony headphones few times and one ear stopped working. :( too bad. I loved them..

I've hd these headphones for about 2 or 3 years. I love them. They're amazing! I've used them in the recording studio, and practicing with my iPod for all those years, and you can hear everything really good. Even the specifics on drums, which is what I play. They have a ton of low end too. The only bad thing is, my cord has a short in it now, and so you know how that goes. But, maybe they just wore out on me. I've used them practically everyday since I got them for a minimum of an hour or two. Give them a try.

I didn't buy these with the intention of using them for anything but listening to my ipod with them. But I found they're not bad for recording, the sound is pretty good, decently comfortable too. I know a couple people who have had these and the things that look like they would be hinges break. But if you take care of them, they're fine. I bought them for snowboarding and they're loud enough for me to not hear anything when they're over my tuque (yes I'm Canadian) and still don't lose much clarity. If you're looking for some all purpose head phones for real cheap, check these out.
