The Standard For Live Sound

I've used these for years and can simply tell you they are the best headphones out there for live sound. They provide the most flat/true sound and can handle excessive volumes with ease. Only gripe is that they are slightly deficient on low end (see low end EQ rolloff in specs)but it is fairly easy to adjust for this while mixing. Bottomline: Great headphones for a great price. My experience/background: worldwide touring from small 300 person capacity clubs to 40,000+ person festivals.

These are great except for one shocking problem

I love these headphones, they have great detail and depth. The problem with them is that they will deliver a static shock in a dry climate directly to your ears if you move around the studio at all. I have two pair and have used them in different situations, and the same shock happens. It is uncomfortable, and sony knows about it, just google 7506 shocking to see how they try to cover it up. These would be stellar phones if they did not zap you.

I am a musician and an audio production student at Ball State University. My audio professor recommended these and I know why: they are an exceptional product for an outstanding value. I could not be more pleased. Very tough with an amazing, warm sound.

A great product for a low price. I've used these phones for years and have always been happy with how they work in various situations, from a isolation headset when recording a vocal to a monitor headset when mixing down. They miss a little bit of the very low end, but that's why I also own monitor speakers, right?

These are the Ones

I've tried many pro-headphones and these are by far the best. Compared to my MDR-V600s, these are louder, clearer, and far more accurate. Keep in mind these are pro-level *monitors* with a pretty much flat frequency curve with little to no coloration, so they're no intended for casual listening, but they let you hear what you actually recorded; You will find your mixes coming out vastly different (i.e., better) with these things. Overall, I'm very impressed. I can't believe I got such a great product at such a ridiculously low price point. Sony finally got something right.
