I just got these this pm, and I must say, I am impressed by the sound from these phones. After reading the other reviews, I was still sceptical, I mean come on 90 Bucks for a pair of headphones?! They turned out to be about 90% of what the reviewers said in my opinion. I bought a pair of American Audio HD 700's and the Stanton 2000's sound clearer, more spacious and less "muddy". The 700's seemed to have overdone mid bass. With the 2000's Van Halen's "Eruption" sounded awsome with clear sizzling cymbals and detail, I heard every string from Eddies guitar.
Trance and Club music also sounds great with all the beat and clap I could handle. The bass was a tad bit weak for the price but still surfaced as deep, tight and firm when a song called for it.
I guess it's the price you pay for the loudness.
The ear cups fit well and seal out about 60% of outside noise. The construction is all plastic and comes with a round piece of soft foam behind the right ear cup, I guess for shoulder quick access use. The head band adjustment is simple and segmented. I also liked the "L" phono connector.
Over all, I highly recommend these if you are a serious listener like I am.
Well done STANTON!!

I must say: These headphones are quite possibly the best I ever had. The sound quality is glorious and they are just so comfortable to wear. (In other words, if you have a home studio, these headphones should be at your disposal.)

I just got these today. They are FANTASTIC! The sound clarity and isolation are great. They can be cranked up and the person sitting next to you still can't hear noise. At the same time, you can set them at a lower level and still not be disturbed by noises around you. I feel like I am sitting in the middle of a room with the stereo cranked. VERY impressive bass response. Everyone here who's tried them is just blown away.

I've had my Stanton headphones for a little over a year and use them for all of my digital recording. These things are FANTASTIC! They blow the doors off of the higher-priced Sony and AKG models I've used. The tonal quality is very consistant with my master-mixdown and cover all frequencies. If these Stanton's ever fall apart I'll buy a set of six!!!

Awesome phones at an awesome price

I just got these phones today and I am very impressed. The sound is clear and pristine, with a very flat response. I even plugged this into my crappy (integrated audio) laptop stereo jack and it made a significant improvement in the sound quality. I am sure there is an amp built in to these phones since I don't need to crank up the volume as much. Also comes with a nice carrying case. Money well spent.
