The Stedman Proscreen XL is a professional advanced pop filter for all vocal applications. Made from an exclusive patented material that eliminates pops far more effectively than fabric filters, the Proscreen XL allows unobstructed passage of high frequencies helping to maintain the important detail in vocal recordings. I bought a generic mesh pop filter just to get started recording vocals. I knew plosives kill a good recording so I figured I need a filter quick, and I went with what I could afford at the time. Recently I bought this filter and not only has it decreased the plosives in my recordings, it works much more easily in place.

The way this is designed it literally redirects air downward and away from the mic. THe gooseneck is very firm and flexible and stays exactly where you tell it to. The clamp is large and fits any mic stand. If you're doing any kind of recording, do yourself the favor and spend the extra cash to get this thing.

The technology of most pop filters can be recreated with a loop and a nylon stocking. This pop filter rethinks the whole idea and redirects the puffs of air away from the mic very effectively. Now I can sing without "holding back" thus improving my performance. All recording set-ups would benefit. Attached easily and feels sturdy.

I have been going "naked" with my large condenser microphones in the past. They weren't very expensive so I honestly didn't care if my/my talent's spittle/plosives slowly destroyed the mikes.

Recently though I picked up a higher-end microphone and would not dare use the thing without one! So I luckily found the Stedman Proscreen XL and was at first reluctant on the purchase. After some research I purchased it and am glad I did.

It really does what it says. Blowing directly into the thing redirects air downward. And the metal mesh does let the higher frequency pass unlike regular nylon pop filters.

I wish it didn't cost so much but it is the best out there and comes with a lifetime warranty! And it's MADE IN THE U.S.A.!
