Just make sure you keep it on one computer!

Well, let me just say this, this product was really great while I had it. I was in a situation where I lost my activation code that came in the product box. Luckily, I registered my product on Steinberg's website. I originally had sequel installed on a PC of mine for about 6 months. Everything worked great, until I got a new laptop and wanted to get a new activation code so I could install it on the laptop. I seriously went through about 3 new activation codes, and all of the ones I typed into the LCC download entered in as a valid code, BUT the license was a "Pending License," making it unusable. Seriously folks, my advice to you, if your going to use this product make sure the PC you put in on is the PC it stays on. Steinberg's customer support is absolutley ridiculous in how unorganized they are. Sequel is great for first time recording artists, but I advise you not to reactivate activation codes. The other reviews on this product were right, this thing is a nice product, but the headaches that come along with it just aren't worth it. Syncrosoft is the most buggy license control I've ever seen in my life. For Steinberg to use it to protect their product lisences is just foolish.

Wish I Could Have Used It

I tried everything to get this thing up and running, I followed all of the steps the people on the phone gave me but in the end the liscence ending up corrupting my computer resulting in me wiping my whole computer clean and re-installing everything. I called them to complain but they said it was something I did and it wasn't their problem, I find that funny because their supprt team walked me through setting it up. The software may be good, I have no idea becasuse setting it up proved impossible. Save yourself time and headaches and don't buy this.

BAD PRODUCT - DON'T BUY

Steinberg uses something called Syncrosoft for copyright protection. This product is extremely buggy, (the latest "fix" came out today, 5/28/2008. I urge you not to use Sequel, even if it is given away. You don't need the headaches. Following are four quotes from the Steinberg technical forum on installation problems. 1. Today I bought sequel. I installed everything and everything goes well. Then I had to download the license.
The LCC wizard came on screen and I fallowed the steps, I entered my activation code and pressed enter then the license tree displayed it says license- sequel 1.x
then I click on button “next” and it went to the next level "download license" : I click on download license button but it says “internet connection to license server could not be established. Please check your internet connection”.
It’s wird because I’ve internet connection I’m writing this topic right.
Any way I repeated the steps again with my firewall off but still the same result that there’s no internet connection. Can you help out please. 2. Only two days after I installed Sequel I ran into a problem. Unfortunatley I ran a program called "RegCure" and it deleted my license. I uninstalled Sequel to try and reinstall it, but now I get the following error message right away: The folder path 'Sequel 1 for Windows' contains an invalid character. Can anyone help me with this? Or is the CD defective? I just bought it 3 days ago.... 3. Hi guys My name's Rob and I work as an IT technician in a Secondary school in the south of England, we have just purchased 15 copies of Sequel but are stuggling to acitvate them. After filling in the long serial code I go to start the licence download, 20-30 seocnd later an Error message pops up :- "Error Quote: Syncrosoft Licence Control Center Internet connection to licence server could not be established.
Please check yout internet connection."
I have check the internet connection, I was even surfing the Steinberg support pages whilst attempting an activation, so I 100% have a net connection. Which leads me to believe its being blocked by the firewall. But I have no idea what port/s the Syncrosoft LLC uses. Can any one help? Regards (Answer from Steinberg to above:) Hello! The Syncrosoft LCC uses port 80 HTTP for communication. Are you on a proxy server? (Note: As a musician, should you really need to know what a proxy server is so you can use a piece of software? Also the long serial number Rob refers to is a 52 character string! What are they thinking at Steinberg!) 4. There was a serious crash to my sequel. I had a problem with the LLC.
It did not came up
so i tried to reinstall it and it didnt helped.
I uninstalled everything and restore my Laptop to day before.
now the LLC is working fine
but with the sequel There are application files but when I start it it crash
AND the worst thing is that I can NOT install or uninstall sequel I get this enoying message:
"This patch package could not be opened. Verify taht the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer patch package." I have a project to finish this week!!!! Your Help
please.... Obviously I'm returning Sequel and good riddance!

Fruitty Loop,Step aside

I've been on Fruitty Loop for over 3 years. I was looking for more music to create for my artist. I needed more sound. So, when got with SEQUEL, I made a beat in about 3 hours. I called my artist and told him I got something new for him, he came by and heard the NEW sound that I created with SEQUEL, he kept telling me how he loves it and did not want me to give the beat to the other artist. Thanks, SEQUEL... Ol'
