I only recently became aware of Sterling Audio Mikes. They looked good and the price was reasonable so I gave the Sterling ST-51 a try. The mike is solidly built, feels good and has an appearance of quality. When I hooked it up I was even more pleased. I tried it going directly into my M-Audio Interface, through my mixer, and then with a Mike preamp before the mixer. In all cases the mike handled my male vocals well, with a warm full bodied sound. Oh and you can find a nice helpful guide on the Sterling mikes right here on the MF site. For recording vocals, the Sterling ST-51 is definitely recommended !

I checked out many many mics at lots of stores in Hollywood and made the right decision in purchasing the ST 51. I do voiceovers and have various mics in all price ranges, but this one has a nice warm sound and great frequency response from the lows to the highs. It's also an excellent mic to use in a less-than-totally-quiet area for VO (or other similar) purposes. It also comes with a nice bracket and cover. A great mic!

This is a good mic. It seems to accentuate the upper range. Brings out the worst in a male rocker voice, but it sounds great as a room mic to me. It will also mic a guitar cab well. If you're looking for a solid, versatile mic for not much, this is a good mic for you.

Don't let the price of this mic fool you! I was so suprised of the sound when I first bought it! Since then I have gotten 3 of these mics. I record acappella music and I use this mic for every voice part. I'm telling...it is nice! Buy this one.

When I went to a music store, I was on a small budget. The associate there recomended this mic to me. I honestly had my doubts about the quality of the mic. I eventually bought it thinking that as long as I compressed, eq and mix my vocals correctly, I'd be fine. however when I plugged it in and did a session with it, I was amazed at the quality. It didnt distort or anything. It gave a warm sound to the vocals. Almost like my other mic. the GT66. Its definately a great mic. Take my word for it.
