User Friendly Value, smooth, and Quiet

From reading previous reviews it seems some people have had some noise problems with the TC. I however have had no issues, and I am totally satisfied. I actually bought a second one, and relegated my Lexicon mx200 to the practice room. I have owned a band pa system for 20+ years and have gone through many effects processors such as DeltaLabs, Alesis', DODs, DigiTeks, Lexicons etc... the TCs however are among my favorites, and I've used them for about 5 years now. Unlike the Lexicon, the TCs, and owners manuals are extremely user friendly. As I said,I own the PA, but I play in the band so we hire different people to mix the sound board, some are professional, some are not, so user friendly rules! I'm old school, and always prefer nobs, and buttons to a menu such as the Lexi had and ease of operation is where the TCs really have the edge.(I had an older Lexi which had virtually no nobs, thus relied almost totally on a rather complicated menu, but it appears the newer ones may have added some controls?) I really like the smooth TC reverb, and tap Echo. Though the Lexi, and others I've used had great sound, in the real world I believe the TCs are at least as good or better. At the sound board I use a Y out of an effects send to each TC, and return each (one for reverb, and one for echo)thru a spare channel, and use the sliders to add the effect back to the mix. I also use an older analog Effectron for a doubler. Love my TCs!

Disappointing

This unit was quite disappointing once racked up. The effects were pretty average, but for the money about what you would expect. The major problem is with line noise from the unit...this thing emits a hiss like you wouldn't believe, to the point that it makes it impossible to get a useful level of effects without almost drowning it out with hiss. None of our other effects units have ever made noise, but this one is just ridiculous.

Nice features, but freezes

I've had my TCElectronics M350 for a month, using it in an amp effects loop. Features are basic, but nice for the price. Unfortunately, it freezes often when changing presets (between songs) Sometimes I can turn it off and on again to fix it (by unplugging it). But I've had to do a complete reset a couple times now, which erases any user presets. By the way, there are NO factory presets other than "point all the dials to 12:00 position".

Great inexpensive entry level effects

The M350 is the easiest to use FX module on the market. There are 12 Reverbs and 12 Delays giving you a total of 144 Presets. There is no need to remember which number is which effct program, just turn the Reverb and Delay dials to your desired selection, and it is automatically one of the 144 factory Presets. If you like, you can tweak the effect parameters from the front panel dials and save your adjustments to a User Preset. Of course, then you need to remember what you did. I have an M350 and a FireworX. It seems to me that TC Electronic likes to combine a Phaser type delay with a Modulation/ Reverb in quite a few of their factory Presets. The Phaser plus Reverb setting on the M350 sounds quite close to many of the fancy Presets on the FireworX. So if you are on a budget and want to get a taste of the TC Electronic effects style, insert the M350 into your effcts loop. I bought the M350 because I was curious and wanted to have an inexpensive FX module on hand just in case.

Noisy little guy

Lots of good effects, and a good sound, very flexable. HOWEVER...a signal path is only as strong as its weakest link and this is one weak link. I run everything through top-of-the-line gold plated cables and still can not get rid of the perpetual background hiss. In the recording rack, it was fair, and when playing guitar on clean it's good, but any overdrive at all and you may wish you spent a bit more money. None the less, I gig with it and it fairs well. I suppose it's a fine product over all.
