The TC Helicon VoiceLive Vocal Floor Processor puts all the vocal tools you love and use in one dedicated box engineered for live music performance. Powerful EQ, compression, and delay are combined with rich reverb, harmony, correction, and doubling algorithms from TC-Helicon.

4 unique harmony logic algorithms can add harmonies generated from your lead voice or can be used by a backup singer to create a multivoice back-up ensemble. Each of the 4 harmony voice parts use the Hybrid Shifting algorithm. This superior pitch-shifting algorithm is combined with a voice-trained pitch-detection algorithm and human-modeled naturalization parameters to create natural-sounding harmonies.

The automatic pitch correction is the most transparent available. With factory and custom scales the Correct block can fix intonation problems in any musical style. Amount, Attack and a 200-cent window control make natural pitch correction easy to achieve.

The VoiceLive contains the VOSTM Limiter-an optical limiter optimized for voice. Its analog architecture ensures you'll never distort the mic input and maintain premium sound quality.

8 footswitches and 4 control modes make VoiceLive easy to use in your performance. A user footswitch is assignable to TAP Tempo (for delay), Harmony Hold, and other useful parameters. You can also use an expression pedal to sweep through assignable modifiers.

The bottom plate is constructed using a powder-coated steel-plate with anti-skid rubber matting. Controls are recessed and reinforced by double aluminum construction.

I purchased the voice live in 2006. I loved it while it worked. It really does sound great and has really nice features. Unfortunately for me, mine had power issues common with this piece of gear. It turns on then turns off repeatedly while plugged in. I read stories about peoples units continuing to do this after being sent in for repair. The only way I've been able to fix mine is by picking it up and dropping it onto the carpet. I know it sounds ridiculous but it actually works lol. So, if you are one of the possible many who have a voice live unit laying around taking up space because it no longer functions, go ahead and drop it from about a foot and a half or two feet then see what you've got. It worked for mine for a little while. Then you just drop it again lol.

I don't know what the other reviewers units are like but I have been using mine live every weekend for several months and have not had a reboot or performance problem. I do bring mine home in a gig bag (not even padded). I do , however, power it from my Furman AR15 voltage regulator, so it is receiving regulated conditioned power. More features and programming than I will ever use live, although that is its forte. I have used it in my studio with the SPDIF output and the software editor and works well there also.

It's great when it works which is next to never, avoid this purchase unless you like customer service that sucks and ignores you for weeks at a time while you holding the most expensive paper weight on your block. Mine has been replaced twice already and their trying to wiggle out of a 3rd. Good luck people.

Powerful and Complex

I purchased the Voicelive about 2 months ago and have been playinng with it a little each day. My conclusions are it is very powerful, works best if yo have real music theory (if you dont either get some or purchae the digiitech) and is incredible. To simplify use, I suggest midi with a PC/MAC and the Free VYSOR VOICELIVE software. it makes it simpler with a mouse instead of the limited interface controls. For live performance, I use the Vysor to get my settings (controls most of the functions), record it to my sequencer software, store to laptop and am ready to do a performance without having to push the bottons.. If you have a keyboard (I use the Edirol PC80 with edirol UM-1x midi interface, which comes with sonar for sequencer, total cost less than 200)you can setup the exact notes for harmony much simpler. I could teach a 3 day class to explain all he features. I am a bassist and use midi to keep the number of band mambers to a minimum. This allows you to work with people with minimal vocal power therefore not making your search for peopel who can play well and sing well, you can just take the players. Also, with the advent of the digitech, these units are selling on Craig's list for a fraction fo new cost. It's the same guts as the studio rack unit. Totally worth every penny. good luck and be patient.

Nice unit... but...

I like this unit for our singer... I purchased this to enhance his sound and it does a great job. The first unit I purchased was a Scratch & Dent and it kept re-booting...the new one has not given us a single problem (4 months).

As for programming - this thing is a bear! Very small LCD, knobs are tiny, information is cryptic. They should have spent a little time on the user interface.

The presets that comme on this thing are useless. My singer is not a techie, so he hated the thing right out of the box. Not a single preset is usable out of the box. This was a little frustrating because a lot of people work on first impressions. It would have been a lot nicer if the unit had come with a cascading number of effects as you went higher in presets - all the preprogrammed presets use almost every effect the unit has. Really silly.

We started by stripping all the effects and adding them one at a time (as most effects processors are used) tweaking the sound as we added new effects... Time consuming - but only usable in this way in my oppinion.
