Great device, only not for what they tell you

I have one of these and use it in tandem with the excellent "VoiceTone Create" pedal. It is a fantastic tool, but oddly, I find its best features are the ones that TCH are less, well... vocal about.

The pitch correction is just OK. In reality there's no way it could be more than OK unless the pedal knew the key and could interpret the intended pitch. As others have noted, it is fine for providing some gentle nudging toward the most nearby pitch. I keep the "pitch" knob pretty low (about 9 o'clock) when I use the pedal as the pitch correction is the feature that interests me least.

The real value of the pedal in my experience is the combination of adaptive EQ, compression, and sound shaping. While it's fair to quibble that there is very limited control of the settings, the defaults are very, very good. Vocals cut through and have presence in live settings.

I find that this pedal is invaluable for small venue shows where you're singing through a substandard powered PA that has not-great-sounding channel strips (aka - worst case scenario). It definitely cleans up some of the frustrations in these settings. I don't use it at all on shows where we have a full PA/EQ rig and our own sound guy. Nevertheless, for the smaller shows, this pedal (in combination with "VoiceTone Create" adding some subtle doubling and reverb) makes for a pretty polished vocal sound.

Great for so-so background singers

I'm not a singer and never will be but to get into the best bands no matter how well you play (guitar and bass in my case), being able to shore up the harmony parts gives you an edge. I've always tended to sing flat and the tone of my voice leaves something to be desired, but using this box has changed all that. My pitch is spot on, natural sounding, and my tone is clear and punchy.

I plug it in at the start of a gig and forget it. It does all the work and I get all the credit. I haven't used the Guide feature or any manual settings and don't need to. Would this work for a lead singer? I don't know, but for harmony singers that, like me, aren't that good it can make you acceptable, and in my world that's all I need to get the gig.

I've been using it for 9 months and have had no quality or other problems. Just watch the output level; it can overdrive your PA in a hurry.

I'd buy another one in a heartbeat if something happened to this one.

I have been using this unit for 18 months in live performances and it works fine as long as you are slightly sharp or flat of the note you are trying to hit. If you can't sing it wont work. All the functions work and it dose a fine job, a big plus! The only problem is with the power supply. The cord at the connection point to the ac/dc adapter strain relief shorted on both my voice correct and voice create within the first two months of use. The point of power connection to the unit itself stinks. If it gets bumped or touched in any way the unit shuts off during a performance. In my case I need the phantom power for my condenser head set to work. If TC fixed the power supply problem, I would rate it the best.

Even though many people might not hear it when they listen to my music, I go slightly flat and sharp a lot. I hear it. It grates on my ears. So, I read about and decided to purchase the TC Helicon VoiceTone Correct Vocal Effects Pedal. I finished recording the vocal tracks of my newest song today, and I have to say, I'M REALLY IMPRESSED! It made my voice REALLY SOUND GOOD--to ME! Right after I recorded it, I heard my voice sound better than I have ever sung before! Vocals used to be the most difficult part of my recording projects. Getting my voice to sing consistently and precisely on pitch was a challenge that required time-consuming multiple takes. But now, it's actually FUN because on the first take, I hear my voice singing my songs better than I've ever sung them before! This unit is AMAZING! I don't use the word AWESOME very often, but the TC Helicon VoiceTone Correct Vocal Effects Pedal is AWESOME!!!

The product needs no accessories -- except an XLR cable to go from the "Correct" to your input channel. It dynamically adjusts EQ, Compression, and De-essing to your voice while making pitch corrections. I bought it primarily for pitch correction, but I am amazed at the outstanding quality of my recorded voice. I've never heard myself sound so good!

This product is unbelievably easy to use. You plug it in, set your output level, and sing. No need to set the key you're in, no need to tweak the knobs. It's truly "plug and play." The default settings do an incredible job -- automatically. Connections are standard XLR. Set the channel on your mixing board/console flat and out comes great vocal sound. Simple! This unit is the equivalent of thousands of dollars of equipment --and a truly competent sound engineer to run it-- ten, or even five years ago.

I was impressed by the quality of this unit. I was expecting a light-weight plastic unit, but instead, it appears to be made of very durable materials and has significant mass to it. That would even help it stay in place in live performances. It's definitely road-worthy.

I'll probably use this unit the rest of my life. Maybe it's simply a lack of my imagination, but I can't imagine anyone coming out with a unit that could do what this unit does easier or better. If this unit were to come up missing, I'd order another the same day.

I do not have the perfect voice, but needed something to use at church to help control compression and pitch for worship. I did as many others have said leave everything straight up and down and then adjust it from there. The words from my soundguy was WOW! The only thing that needed adjusting was the input vol. It comes in a little hot. It was great because now he is able to set my eq settings straight up on the board and does not even touch my settings. A+++++
