In a word, UNRELIABLE!

Our facility has 4 of these, only 2 of which will still play a cd. For whatever reason after a year or so the unit will refuse to recognize that a cd has been inserted. It is a great unit when it is working but dont expect it to last a long time. A cd/cassette unit is getting increasingly hard to find. I belive denon makes one the "DNT625" other than that, this and a few others by tascam are the only choice. So my opinion, just get a good cd player, let the people with a cassette deal with it.

This is very well built, you can tell just by holding one, and it does the job well. It is a little on the pricy side but I think it's worth it for the robustness of the design. Having a rackmounted tape deck/CD player is very handy. I use the tape side to record the church service (great quality) and I can still use the CD side for backround music, dramas, etc.
