I got this for Christmas I have been recoding my band at live shows with it since then. It works great and the sound is not bad at all I am using outboard Mics one condenser and on old NDYM have not tried it with the built in mics yet. The learning curve was not too hard. But I lost the data for a coupla gigs because I did not shut down properly. Down side NO BACKLIGHT, NO EQ the Backlight thing really sucks because I record in low light Clubs and Bars. One huge complaint is that mine dows not interface with my computer, all I get is the usb icon and nothing else. Tech support is nonexistant However overall I am happy with it Not a bad Buy but for a few bucks more ya could do better

After reading all the reviews I thought that this would be too good to be true, but it's as good as I thought it would be and better. The only negative reviews I found were completely false. It works for active AND passive pickups. I was recording minutes out of the box with NO EXPERIENCE! Paired with "Audacity", a free program for audio editing, this piece of equipment is PERFECT for anyone who just wants to record a demo. With features like the track-bounce you can record way more than just 4 tracks. For the money it does NOT get any better than this.

This is a great product, has essential features (except EQ). Condenser mics that are on board are pretty good too. Buy this product! this is a great buy if youre a single artist and want to laydown multiple tracks. I can also imagine this would work well for bands and live recording. I would suggest buying a bigger SD card 4GB would be good. I have had no problems with this machine, user manual is written simply and is useful.

This is a great unit and it works as advertised. I have a lot to learn about recording and this unit has helped so far. My only issue with the unit is that a foot switch would have been nice to help punch in/out while playing guitar.

I got the unit used but in mint condition so the issues I have with it may be attributed to the previous owner. It froze up on me once, and sometimes it doesn't get power from the batteries. (even if brand new, usually while the AC adapter gets accidentally pulled out. moving or taking out and replacing the batteries solves the problem, but I have lost info because of this) the mastering of songs doesnt produce much difference, to me at least. If you want to record live shows DEFINITELY get a 4g or higher card. two tracks on a 1g card lasts for about 44 min. the quality of recording is fine, the mics are fine, and is very easy to operate, most controls are obvious as to what they do (for most people that are fluent on common digital interfaces) good for beginning mixing (but no eq, get your own!) ideas that need to be quickly recorded and live shows and practices. Its good, I like it.
