If you're like me, before you lay down a final mix, you want a quick reference to where the song is heading. The DP-008 is absolutely the easiest tool to capture 8 tracks (2 tracks simultaneously), with effects and stereo onboard mics without scrolling through awful menus.I now own three different portable multitrack recorders and this is by far the best. The Boss Micro BR is packed with features but takes time to scroll/record, has only 4 tracks and records only one track at a time,the Fostex VF160 is way too complex period. Get the AC adaptor and 2 gig memory with this gem. I can't put it down! It put the "fun factor" back in my studio. It's really compact too. You can take it anywhere.

This little item is a songwriter's dream....Being a multi insttrumentalist, one can lay down the bed tracks, and then add many more, and in Stereo, too....! Very logical controls. I own the dp-004 also, and can take it to jams, etc, and then remove the sd card, put it the dp-008, and add more instruments..amazing...and you can sit and mix anywhere, in the car, on the plane....Not for final production of songs, but sure good for the sketches....the sound is great...W.Keith
