When is Technics going to comeout with the digital output to comepete with stanton, and numark turntables? Once owned a technic, had it hooked to a big pioneer reciever, it sounded great, or to had my but kicked for parting with it.

This is a great piece of DJ equipment, I've owned many different brands of turntables and Technics makes the best by far. The only thing I do NOT like about this particular model is the pitch lock button. If you're in the middle of a set and accidentally hit that button it can be CATASTROPHIC. I plan to pull the button out or tape it over...something. I'm not exactly sure what the purpose of the pitch lock is really, we got along just fine for many many many years on the MKII's without that. The next model released by Technics needs that button to be recessed so you have to intentionally hit it and cannot accidentially touch it and screw up a perfectly good set/recording. OTHERWISE, this is the #1 table out there because the other features FAR FAR outweight any inconvenience with that one button.

Technics S.O.S.

well it's been 30 years since the 1200s came on to the scene and this new incarnation keeps the reputation of making one solid turntable. Not much has changed on these decks aside from the new Pitch range switch, and brighter LEDs. I don't think it merits the price hike, so for me that really brings the value down. Also, 30 years later and technics still hasn't figured out a way to eliminate the annoying, and troublesome ground cable. The competition obviously gets it, Technics has failed to listen to the consumers. So if they're listening, Ditch those ground cables, use a 3-prong design, and lower the price...

Seriously if you have the cash you might as well your never going to have to buy new desks again. I've had mine for a year now no problems period. Stylish, and tough as can be, what more can you ask for? The nicest tables on the market hands down. But then again so are MK5's technics got it down at this point!
