Amazing Mic

This is a great mic. It works well with most things. The headpiece is a little tight but it still works well if you have a small head. The only downside is putting it too close to your head otherwise it'll muffle your voice :(. But other than that it is great.

Not bad for the price

For the price and the fact that it's wireless it's a great buy. I use it for small venues playing piano hooked to my Behringer PA. The only downside is that the headset is not adjustable. It's just flexible plastic and fits tight if you don't have a small head. If you have a large head, it's going to pinch or possible wear out and break. Remember to turn off the transmitter and receiver when not in use. Batteries last otherwise. Mic is small and has great pickup. Gets muffled if the mic is too close but thats any mic. Another plus is that you don't HAVE to use the trasnmitter with the headset. It has a standard 1/8" plug so you can plug in any headset with it.

For speech, the SMM-112 is a great purchase

I purchashed this wireless mic for a dance instructor's evening class for families, thinking that as long as I don't have too many dropouts, I can EQ and compress it to sound OK for speech. In the venue, I stretched out the wire antenna on the receiver, which apparently helps with signal gain. I did notice when I was testing it at home prior to the event that if you don't stretch out the antenna, you will hear interference when you get more than 20 feet away and turn your back to the receiver. There is some cut at 4 kHz that the mic needed so that the mic had good gain without feedback. I also had to cut the lows some to attenuate breathing noises. The mic was used for a little over 4 hours with no dropouts, and it sounded surprisingly good for a wireless mic. This was with dancing bodies at times between the dance instructor and the receiver. I had a Sennheiser E835 on a stand that was used for announcements, door prizes, etc. during the evening. During the first part of the evening I worked on tweaking a 15 band EQ and a parameteric EQ to get the wireless sounding as close as possible to the E835, and I was rather amazed at how well it could sound with the right EQ. The dance instructor varied between 20 to 75 feet from the receiver. It was rather amazing to hear the mic cut through the music when the instructor gave instructions during the dances. I thought that a wireless mic in this price range would not have much ability to cut through anything. This mic really fit the pocketbook and audience satisfaction well, although I would probably not use it for a live lead vocal.

Useless wireless mike.

This singing machine wireless mike was useless to me. I teach group fitness classes and as soon as the mike was out of vision of the receiver, even if I turn my back on the the receiver, it would lose it's connection. Walking around the studio to teach class was impossible. Perhaps if you stand in front of the singing machine it may work.

I ordered one of these thinking, What the heck, for $20. Cant go wrong to try it. Boy was i suprised. It has VERY substantial head-piece,and picks up as far as 200FT. away. It has a decent sound, and can be used like an expensive set up can. May have been designed for a Karoke machine, but i find it works real well as a wireless mic for a small PA set. I ordered two more just like it
