I bought this product and it sounds great. All of the reviews say that it is a decent preamp with a stellar EQ. That is also my experience, but mostly i love the company. My unit developed buzz in one channel and I had to send it back. It came back not working at all and I sent it back thinking I was going to have one of those nightmare experiences with a company. Not SO! They sent me a new unit right away. I sing their praises!

First of all, I am not employed by Toft Audio. I am a musician/studio guy. I own some nice stuff...Grace, Manley, Neumann, etc. and have known about Toft stuff by reputation. I bought a pair of ribbon mics from Cascade Microphones and Michael Chiriac recommended the Toft preamp.I decided to give it a try. The preamp section is a nice non-coloring preamp and it has a nice compressor. The best thing about this is the stellar EQ section. What a treat! Okay, so you get a great little package here, but the best thing about Toft was their service. After a month, it developed a hum in the left channel, so I called and sent it back. They called and said that they had replaced ann IC and it was on its way back. I got it back and it would not turn on. I called and again had to send it back. I was expecting a nightmare situation, but to my surprise, within two days they sent me a brand new unit. That is why I am a loyal Toft customer. I rarely get service like that on anything and have utmost respect for companies that are willing to do this. Thanks Toft, for the sound and standing by your product!

I baught this hoping that I would be able to have an all in one professional unit for the least amount of money. The compression and eq are great, and make the unit worth the money. The mic pres are lacking, while they are clear, they have a digital sound to them keeping the recordings from sounding as good as they might with say a tube pre or a pre with a more analogue build. Knowing this when i baught the unit and knowing i was taking a chance with that, it is still an overall good unit for compression and eq.But I still use my less expensive tube pre i had that this was hopefully going to replace, so if you are buying it for new mic pres mainly dont bother, but if you want a cheap all in one unit then this is the one to buy if you have a good preamp or two to go with it.
