The PRO 550 are professionally designed and equipped headphones. Detachable cables, extra cable, speed-switch earpads, a spare pair of earpads, hardcase for storage and transportation, and many more details meet professionalsï needs. The 50mm heavy-duty driver produces an imposing sound intensity. Tight and powerful bass plus precise and detailed instrument placement are delivered. Combined with all useful accessories included in the PRO hardcase, the closed PRO 550 finds fans among bass players and drummers. Due to requests, Ultrasone implemented an additional function which enables you to fold these headphones easily.

ULE-technology & PRO design
PRO headphones have Ultra Low Emission (ULE) technology with significant benefits for professional users. PRO headphones also have a unique design; the PRO appearance not only distinguishes the professional line but also allows a higher degree of transparency in combination with the spatial sense and understanding, due to more ear anatomy area.

To understand what ULE-technology does, you need to know that most headphone drivers produce low-frequency magnetic fields as they convert an electric signal into an acoustical signal that you hear as music. In response, Ultrasone developed a special MU Metal shielding (ULE-technology) to reduce the radiation by up to 98% compared to current headphones. The ULE-technology has stood the test of international review and is recommended by technical surveillance organizations. Ultrasone originally developed the ULE-technology for professionals as they spend half of their lives in headphones. But due to grand requests the ULE-technology has now been integrated in other Ultrasone headphone lines.

S-Logic Natural Surround Sound
Through the S-Logic Natural Surround Sound the usual headphone sound will be moved out of the head into the room around you. The sound is no longer locked in, but appears broad and detached. Directions and distances can be heard and perceived-it's just like being in a live concert. For this new technology, additional equipment is not required. Safer hearing
S-Logic does not only create a Natural Surround Sound. S-Logic allows, at the same time, a reduction of sound pressure levels by up to 40% (3-4 dB) for the same loudness sensation. This may reduce the risk of hearing damage while ensuring hours of fatigue-free listening. However, Ultrasone generally advises not to listen to music at high volumes to prevent hearing damage.

the headphones are beefy, i dont think they will break anytime soon. the main thing i look for in a phones besides the sound quality is the wear ability, because that can make the difference of getting a project done or not, even it they do sound good, if they hurt your not getting anything done in peace, so for the wear ability, very comfy. the sound is amazing, you can hear it wrapping around your head and not just pumping in your ears, accurate to the sound of the song, no shadowing or over emphasizing tones.

overall they are the best phones, I've use Sony, AT gear and Sennheiser and these are not as well known but can beat them in a sound test any day.
