I bought this player and it works GREAT! Only problem I encountered is there is no display to tell you what track your on. Would be a nice fearture to add. But overall works and plays great. Played Cd's that my computer would not.

I usually can find nothing negative for something that is cheap but for this price this is crap. I had it about a month and the front CD lift door came off of it, It is slow at responding to a new CD or when you choose another song, the graphics are the crapiest that I have seen, and this is only kareoke so you know the graphics don't have to be great but Wow, Bad. I wish I would have spent at LEAST another 50 bucks and would have gotten soemthing that is better but I didn't so, My Bad.

I purchased the DVX-580G player for my parents' home karaoke setup (which also includes a Behringer UB802 mixer and a Sennheiser e835 mic). They use it nearly every day and have really enjoyed it. I found it was very intuitive (as do my parents), and I didn't need the manual to get started or to connect it to the mixer and TV. Its small size fits perfectly anywhere.
I found the pitch correction feature to work very well - surprising for a lower-end unit.
The only complaint I have is the track number is not displayed on the TV, and there is no display on the unit itself. That makes it challenging to easily select your favorite CD or DVD track.
Overall, it's a great basic player, and would also work great as a second DVD or CD player.

Having lost both of my JVC karaoke players in an unfortunate accident, I purchased the Vocopro DVX-580G as an emergeny replacement, due to its low price and advertised features. What I received was a unit that does not even come close to what is advertised. It had problems loading all formats of discs, including DVDs and the included DivX disc. In fact, it would not load CDGs or VCD 2.0 at all. Another problem is it's absence of a display window. This leaves you guesing as to which track is actually going to play next. This unit may be acceptable for home use by some, but definitely not acceptable for professional use. In fact, I returned it after the first use and would never purchase another. Some say, "You get what you pay for." In this case, you don't even get that.
