The Yamaha MG32/14FX 32-Input 14 Bus Mixer with DSP Effects represents a completely no-compromise approach to PA. It's built for great sound, total control, and superior reliability and goes through the same rigorous quality and reliability tests as Yamaha's world-class PM-series mixing consoles. By taking full advantage of the latest technology and manufacturing techniques, Yamaha has been able to pack this superlative mixer with more value than you'll find anywhere else. In short, the MG32/14FX offers extraordinary performance and mixing power at remarkable prices.

If your application is live sound reinforcement, you'll want all the channel capacity you can get-just in case. Vocal mics, instrument mics, stereo keyboards, direct-injection feeds, drum mics, and the rest can add up very quickly. With 32 input channels, the MG32/14FX is ready to handle all but the most ambitious setups. And with dual SPX digital effect systems onboard, you won't need racks of outboard gear to get the sound you need. There's also a range of group and auxiliary busses to make even complex mixes easy.

32 input channels

The MG32/14FX has 24 mono microphone/line channels, with 4 stereo line channels.

Mic preamps with phantom power

All 24 mic preamps in the MG32/14FX are of exemplary quality. They offer low-noise, transparent amplification with the widest possible range of dynamic and condenser microphones, which adds up to cleaner, better-sounding mixes. All mic preamps feature switchable phantom power for studio condenser microphones. Phantom power is switchable in 8-channel groups.

Illuminated switches

Illuminated On (channel), PFL (pre-fader listen), and phantom power switches let you confirm critical console settings at a glance.

14 buses for flexible signal routing

With a total of 14 mix buses (main stereo program bus, four stereo group bus pairs, six auxiliary busses, and two internal effect busses), you get lots of input channels for the high demands of live sound reinforcement, plus room for group submixes or aux sends for external signal processing and monitor mixes.

Channel EQ

The 3-band EQ with sweepable mids provided on all input channels is designed for exceptionally smooth, intuitive response that can help you create cleaner, tighter mixes. All mono channels also feature a switchable high-pass filter that can cut out unwanted low-frequency noise.

SPX digital effects

Two high-performance digital signal processors are fed by separate effect buses and enhance the mix with 2 separate effects simultaneously. Each stage provides a selection of 16 pro-quality effects, including reverb, delay, pitch change, chorus, phasing, vocal doubling, distortion, and more. Parameter controls can be adjusted to tailor the effects to your sonic requirement. Tap delay makes it easy to produce tempo-synchronized delays.

Talkback input

Communication capability is important for an efficient setup as well as for keeping a show running smoothly. The MG32/14FX features a talkback system that allows the mixer engineer to communicate with other staff to keep the team operating at optimum efficiency.

I/O

All mono input channels feature insert I/O patch points so you can insert compressors, EQ, or other extra signal-processing gear into the channel signal path as required.

Professional connectivity is provided by reliable XLR-type balanced stereo and mono outputs.

One of the many uses for a mono output is to drive a subwoofer system. The MG32/14FX makes this easier than ever with a built-in sweepable low-pass filter on the mono outputs.

I run live sound for a mid sized band and we gig every month. I saw this in a magazine and knew that this would be a perfect board for the band. The band leader wanted to have certain options open to him as far as mics and monitors go. We now run 2 guitar amps miked twice and a bass amp twice. We also have a lead singer and two backup singers. As for drummers, I run 7 individual channels. Even with all those inputs, I have many left over as well. One of my favorite features is the 4 separate subgroups. I send all the singers to one subgroup, the guitars to another, and the drums to the third one. My other favorite about this is the 4 aux sends. I run all four monitors with their own mix and the band loves it! They can have their own sounds in each monitor. If you want a great board with every feature you can imagine built in, then check out this great mixer today.

I own this board in my studio in Chicago. It is such a great mixer for the low price and sound quality. I heard about it after using it at church and decided to buy it for myself. The endless amount of channel spaces is far more than what I need for a 15 piece praise band. I can mic all the drums separately! With the many aux out channels, I can direct out certain channels to different places without changing my main sound. I have also used this mixer live and it works just as well for live apps also. The subgroups and group features are also very helpful. This is an all around amazing mixer. Don't pass it up.

In ears set up

I was telling a fellow musician about this mixer and I thought I'd put in my 2 cents. I joined a band that has this and so I partially inherited it (especially when I had to help pay it off on a credit card with my part of the show money) :)

My 4 piece band uses this like everyone else does with mixers, except we use it in the studio. The great part of this that most peopel aren't aware of is that the blue knobs are aux sends (and returns). The bonus is that it will work only as sends, so each of us sends an aux to a headphone amp and out to in-ears. This way if channel 10 is my guitar and I want to hear more, I can raise that aux level up for my in ears. If my singer doesn't want to hear me, he can lower it. And all this without changing the final out put of the mixer (the sliders).

This is key as in ears save your ears from loud amps and loud drums and cymbals. Fortunately I didn't have to pay for this, but if I ever parted ways with it and wanted to join another band I would seriously consider this mixer for the 4 aux sends alone.

Yamaha ROCKS

I use this mixer at my high school along with 2 line arrays and 2 hung 2x18" sub enclosures much like a downsized version of the rigs used on the Ozzfest tour (powered by 4 Peavey amps). This mixer is awesome. The visual meters and Yamaha's greatest invention yet; the on off buttons for the channels make this board well worth the money. Making the room shake without blowin anything up is very easy with this mixer.
