DBX AFS224 Advanced feedback supressor

This is a very effective unit. I run sound in a blues club. The stage is in the corner and has a brick wall on one side and a window on the other. Even after using an RTA, feed back could still be a problem. "Ringing the monitors" with this unit helps rid 90% of feedback. I like it.

Perfect for limited time and small venues

This device is perfect for running sound in small venues, clubs, and bars when there is minimal setup time. With this device I can ring out the monitors in less than a minute and be ready to go. This device is well built and catches feedback frequencies surprisingly fast. It allows me to run my monitors more than 25% louder (judged by volume knob positioning) with no feedback. I would recommend this for anyone that doesn't have the time or experience to ring out their monitors with a 31 band EQ. I only recommend this device on monitors as it does add some coloration of sound that is not suitable for FOH.

I've had and tried a few different feedback units but this is the one to get! I used it in my live monitor rig this weekend and it worked great and couldn't even hear the difference thanks to the 1/80 octave notch filters! Others I've tried were too sensitive and sucked the life out of the sound. Then I went with 31 band EQ's with feedback detection which also worked well because you could see what frequency was causing the problem and then notch. However, even with this type of notching the 1/3 octave frequency cuts can also punch holes in your sound pretty badly if you're not carful. This unit is the best I've used so far and I'm buying another for my FOH. Very easy to use and it does the job! Great piece of equipment!
