I have not been disappointed in any way with this software. I have used it for only one song at this point, but had incredible results. I am not a Mastering engineer, honestly I'm not even real good at mixing yet. But this program has bought some of my recording to life. Its so easy to make your mix sound better this thing should be illegal. Well worth the price.

I am not a mastering engineer. I am able to use Ozone, however, to achieve much better sound for those recordings that don't justify hiring a real mastering engineer. You must, of course, start with a good basic mix, but many of the presets offer an excellent starting point to make a good mix sound much better.

I find that I use Ozone on a per-track basis as often as I do on the main mix. Almost every live track gets the loudness maximizer to get a nice, quiet boost without clipping or pumping. I find the stereo widener to be invaluable for bringing out a track (reducing stereo placement) or blending one in to the mix (widening the placement). The harmonic exciter seems to bring a little more life into my synth tracks.

Honestly, I couldn't explain to you most of what this software does/can do. It does make my recordings sound better, and it has an expansive list of presets that have inspired me to create some new sounds. Absolutely worth every penny.

Don't think just because you know how to use a computer, effects and record a song that this software is all you need to master songs like a pro. Mastering isn't for audiophiles, engineers or home studio owners. It's for persons who have decided that mastering is what they want to do for a living. This program has the tools to create a good mastering job but only in the hands of a few people. It has lots of mastering presets, some good and some worthless. Throwing a preset on a mix is really a no-no but could possibly improve a disaster. mastering requires thought and skill. It requires ears that can spot tonal and dynamic problems and a person that knows exactly how to fix them. You probably don't know how to do it. You probably don't know what a filter slope is. Peaking and shelving? Dither? Is your listening environment built for this job? Your monitors? Truth is, this software is actually worth the money for anyone with a DAW. It has a great list of effects like "phone call" and more. You can use it just to add some good compression to your vocal tracks. I use it just as often for effects on vocal tracks as I do to master. For me, Ozone is great for effects and is slowly helping me to understand what all of these mastering tools really do. I might be playing with this thing for years before I really use it to it's potential.

I'll be honest, this was my first mastering software (I downloaded the trial version), so I have nothing to compare it with.

But, as far as I'm concerned, this is an amazing mastering software. It GREATLY increased the quality/loudness of my recordings. This is an amazing product, I'm definitely buying it once my trial runs out!
