As a hobbyist with lots of live playing behind me, I was looking for a very good, affordable mic for recording vocals. I also wanted something for live apps if needed. This thing sounds great on my vocal recordings: crisp, articulate, sensitive and rich. It shines through the most densely layered mixes and my wife even enjoyed my singing. This is especially nice since Electrovoice recommends it for live work (Vocals, acoustic guitar, strings, piano and choirs), not the studio. Very versatile mic. Well, in my little studio the vocals sound great (don't use it recording acoustic guitar, wrong tool for that job.)So I am thoroughly pleased with this purchase. It makes me want to head back for the stage. If you singers want to bang on it out there you will likely get some noise through the system, but I am a guitarist so my hands will be busy doing other things. I would be surprised if it doesn't sound even better when used for the applications it's made for. Great job, Electovoice. And thank you MF for a great mic at an amazing price.
